Bowling for mothers of nation

2015-08-27 06:00

As Women’s Month draws to a close, it is critically vital to show appreciation towards the women who are flying the flag inside and outside of the country.

Women who ensure that this country moves forward.

This is to thank all women taking care of the orphans and abandoned children and for loving those children as their own.

To the women who run the local soup kitchens to feed the less fortunate out of love and not pity.

To the women who sacrifice their time to operate afternoon classes and youth centres, your efforts are worth the while.

To those who operate the Early Childhood Development centres, we salute you. We fail to tell women how much we love and appreciate them. Accept this token of appreciation; THANK YOU Mbokodo, Enkosi Mama.

As we are fast approaching the next local government election, it is fitting to highlight a few women who have proven beyond doubt that they are more than capable to lead; Belinda Landingwe, Patricia De Lille, Nombeko Ruby Leputeng, Thandi Manikivana and Mama Mafoko.

Dr. Noma-Africa, Helen Zille, Pat Lekker and Debbie Schafer.

Beyond their political line, they have shown care, love and empathy. The society at large has benefited from their role and responsibilities.

Women have proven that they are leaders and carers by nature. We have seen their leadership in parliament through Mama Baleka Mbethe and Thandi Modise.

It is encouraging that they don’t lead to compete with men, they don’t lead to prove a point, but lead to take this government forward.

I love the fact that they know and respect the men, however, they are firm in putting the voice of women upfront.

I thank you all women.

Please take this time to educate your daughters the key principles of being women.

Do what Mama Helen Susman and Lillian Goyi showed you, show them the way, lead them in the right direction.

I will forever be grateful for the time you carry and love the unborn and sacrifice anything for your family
