It was a gathering of the gorgeous and people of good tastes as two enterprising men staged the ‘Taste of Culture’ event at the Look Out Hill a fortnight ago.

Hosted by Siyasanga Ntsizi and and Luphiwana Mayambela of Blacket Market PTY , this prestigious gathering lived up to its branding.

“We saw that the black middle class is often not catered for so we planned something for them,” said Siyasanga.

The venue teemed with people from various townships intent on enjoying good wine from Ekasi Wine Cellar Door, the finest whiskies from The Glenlivet andamp; Ballantines and selected SAB beers.

Live music by local artists such as Muziek Sensation, Conscious Marimba Band, DJ’s Mshayi and Phira and headlined by the award-winning duo, Black Motion kept everyone pleased.

“The spirits were high on the day as people enjoyed themselves and embraced the arts and culture of our people,” added Siyasanga.

Luphiwana Mayambela said this was their first event but judging by its success they will “bring it again”.

“We promise more lifestyle and corporate gatherings to reurbanize our townships - its high time we celebrate our achievements and embrace who we are,” he said.

MP Masizole Mnqasela and Groova Lounger owner Ace Skaap were amongst the high profile attendees
