Ncandweni at Mandela Park

2015-10-01 06:00

After some years since old members of Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors last performed together, the gospel music icons are set to share the stage during the launch of the group’s latest album and DVD in Khayelitsha’s Mandela Park on Saturday.

The launch of Uyalalelwa uNkulunkulu, which was released a few months ago, will serve as a reunification of Pastor Timothy Myeni, the founder of Ncandweni, with his siblings, Thabile and Mzwakhe Myeni, who left most of their supporters unhappy after they split from the group a few years ago.

The duo released their solo albums after abandoning the group.

Ncandweni have already made their presence felt since their revival shows in Mandela Park on 14 September and set to end on Friday 02 October.

The launch will see Ncandweni performing most of the songs from their 15 albums in a four hour slot.

Nosipho Daniels, a spokesperson, said the revival has seen thousands of people “surrendering their lives to God.”

The gates will open at 10am and the show starts at 12 noon. Tickets are only sold at Computicket for R150.

The only tickets that will be sold at the door are the ones for children under the age of 10 which cost R50.

Daniels said the tickets are already selling like hot cakes and warned fans not to wait until the eleventh hour as the number of tickets is limited.

“We have a limited number of tickets that, because we do not want a stampede at the show. I would like to advise those who want to come to the show to hurry up and buy the tickets to avoid disappointment.”
