Poetics invite you to Guga’s

2015-09-10 06:00

Poetics would like to invite the public to attend an event they will be hosting this Saturday at Guga Sthebe, Kwa-Langa at 2pm.

Poetics is a platform for creative minds to share information and interact within a community of artists, musicians, revolutionaries and regular civilians.

The movement is made possible by a group of young women and men looking to make a difference in society at large,by creating an empowering platform for Rhythm And Poetry/Spoken Word artists, public speakers, musical bands, poets in motion/dancers,etc.

We started out in bookshops and bars in Observatory about two years ago, but since moved to Langa’s Guga Sthebe five months ago and actively running the events from there monthly. This month the focus has been shifted to “Remembering Biko and Our heritage” so as to commemorate the Legacy of Steve Biko(on the date he was murdered 12September), and to conscientize, especially the youth who seem to have forgotten what makes us us, and why it’s all valuable and priceless, and Black Consciousness is the main part of it all.

The event, which is free for everyone.

Poetics’ events take place every second Saturday of each month.
