Philippi East police said that they were conducting various operations in the area.

“Reports of the past three months, re: house robberies in Acacia Park specifically, do not reflect any marked increase in that period,” said police spokesperson LieutenantBheki Xulu.

Regarding the incident pictured Xulu said that a man was arrested for being in possession of stolen items.

“On Tuesday, police arrested a suspect who ran to number 13 Acacia Park where, on investigation, suspected stolen properties was found.

In his possession and in the house, discovered items include a blackberry cellphone, leather boots, bag containing coins and other personal belongings, that was linked to a robbery case, and corresponded with a robbery being investigated by Lentegeur SAPS,” said Xulu
