A prayer for the virtues that define our country

2018-04-19 06:01

Lord, this is a prayer for our nation, and long may it serve its purpose.

May it awaken our leaders, and be used as a tool to bring back their humanity.

Lord we pray for forgiveness, as we have sinned against your will.

We have done against your wishes, and have broken all commandments. However we come to you in humility.

Our political climate is so fragile it is about to snap.

We have so-called communist who earn more than twice the salaries of the lowest paid, in a country of high unemployment.

We have public representatives who are corrupt that they can only be purified by you.

We pray for moral and ethical leadership for the nation.

We pray for those who call for expropriation to do so for the benefit of the people, instead of for their own self.

We pray for those who resist the call to be more considerate and sharing.

Lord we ask for those that you bless in abundance to be more generous, not in charity but in the development of the downtrodden.

Lord we ask for more robust discussion in the national assembly, the provincial legislatures and in municipalities in order to stamp out the current chaos enveloping our country.

Create an accountability and transparency mindset in our leaders.

We are ask for the retention of the dignity of our people, especially those who rely on their social grants for their survival.

Bestow their honour whenever they visit Home Affairs and Human Settlements Departments.

We no longer meditate or feed our spiritual being, hence many of us are no longer guided by consciousness in our daily operations.

Bring your spirit to our places of worship, be they churches, mosques or synagogues.

People are consumed by the need to be involved in endless battles of strife and mayhem.

Witchcraft has become the order of the day and a way of life for others.

Pastors drive this thought for their personal glory.

We pray for you to be in our everyday life at work and home. Lord, we seek your presence in our spiritual life for eternal peace.

We pray to keep the faith and not fake it.

In the Holy Book you have warned of incurable diseases, thus we repent and ask for your holy intervention.

Your people have lost their loved ones to chronic diseases.

Lord in our sickness, we are aware that there are those who are making billions of rand through medication (drugs).

We pray that they don’t get motivated to create more epidemics.

Because of sickness, we have lost close family members, and we pray for healthy lifestyles.

Lord we put forward the valuable lives of the albinos who are under constant attack. We dare not pray for money but for joy and happiness. We pray for rain not floods. We seek sanity and humbleness. We pray for true sense of freedom (mental, financial) for all.
