You might not be aware that this is the last week of the first half of the year.

Many are still waking up to the idea of not having made any progress to their new year’s resolutions.

Some have already given up on their resolutions and even punting them for next year, as if they’ll do any better.

However, kudos to those who have taken their resolutions to heart and have progressed towards their self-made and noble goals.

know those diehards who against all odds would strive to realize their goals. Like the saying goes we are not all the same and our resilience strength do differ.

But, when is it the right time to throw the towel on goals we have set up ourselves.

As things go, we are faced with many testing situations.

These situations always test us to the limit; to the point of despair. But how deep in the abyss should we be, before throwing in the towel.

Isn’t victory sweet. So we go on to rue our failures, and wish we could have hung in there a little longer.

An example is the employee who, when faced with hardships at their place of work, summarily resigns as a result.

And on reflection, they discover that they jumped ship even before the fire engulfed the whole vessel; worst still, even long before the captain screamed “fire” on the oil rig.

Do we leave to regret these decision s or decide to move on, having learned from the mistake of jumping before the alarm bells ring.

Its difficult to determine exactly what decision to have made when in a catch 22 situation at a particular point in time.

Once a decision is taken there is no use to cry over spilt milk and surmise that the decision was reversible.

The point is not to leave with it but move on in life.

Timing in any decision making is sacrosanct.

If we do not invest our energy in the careful consideration of the decisions we make, we might end up regretting ever making those decisions. I wish to encourage people to plan seriously and carefully or research any decisions before they say or do the irreversible and leave to regret it.

People should not be quick to give up and throw in the towel in our country. Hang in there a little while longer maybe things will change for the better.
