Call for Lotto

2018-04-19 06:00

The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) has announced the priority areas for funding for the period of 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.

According to the NLC’s Chief Operation Officer, Phillemon Letwaba, “the NLC distributes an average of R1.5 billion each year. At the same time, funding requests amount to more than R10 billion in total. This has led the Board of the NLC to identify priority areas for funding on an annual basis, with the aim of increasing the impact of funding on society’s wide-ranging needs”, said Letwaba. The new priority areas are available on the NLC website and at all provincial offices. Applications welcome throughout the year In 2016, the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) introduced an Open Call for Applications system, moving away from the previous model of “Call for Applications” for funding for good causes. The previous “Call for Applications” model permitted the NLC to accept applications only if they were submitted during the fixed window period (usually 3 months) annually. The open call on the other hand means that applications will be accepted throughout the year at all NLC offices. Application forms are available on the NLC website
