Campaign encourages children to read

2019-11-21 06:00

A nationwide library drive to get children to sign up at local libraries is being conducted by Nal’ibali.

Nal’ibali is a national reading for enjoyment campaign to spark children’s potential through storytelling and reading.

The campaign’s Barbara Meyer said they are currently leading a nationwide library drive to get as many children as possible signed up.

She said at the moment only one out of five children in Grade 4 can understand what they are reading and they are committed to changing this by encouraging children to join the library and read.

Meyer said the drive will conclude on Friday 29 November.

Children who signed up for the initiative stand a chance to win one of 50 bicycles that are up for grabs.
