Learners from schools in Cape Town townships stand a chance to win stationery vouchers. G. Leticia Suppliers is giving away five R300 vouchers to learners of all grades.G. Leticia Suppliers was founded by former teacher Vukile Gulwa in 2016 and supply textbooks and stationery to township schools and corporate companies in the Western Cape. They supply all academic and branded stationery, office stationery, textbooks, dictionaries, study guides, books by local authors and Bibles. So far, they have worked with more than 20 schools and with a number of private companies. They sell online, via telephone which can be collected or delivered. Gulwa says he started the store because township parents had to travel to stationery stores and ended up buying the wrong items. “Also the big companies charge ridiculous prices and I saw a need for a blackowned supplier who understands how our people live,” he said.He said so far the response has been positive because even if people move to the suburbs they still buy stationery from him. Gulwa said their vision is to ensure that no child is ever in need of textbooks and stationery.“We want to be the game changers in township-based schools,” he said.Gulwa is hoping to open more stores in the townships.
