City to dig deeper

2016-01-21 06:00

The City of Cape Town will investigate if any of its councillors were involved in illegally taking down the “Zuma Must Fall” banner over the weekend.

The huge banner went up on the side of a building in the Cape Town CBD on Friday and was taken down by a group of mostly ANC supporters on Saturday.

City of Cape Town Speaker Dirk Smit said in a statement on Tuesday that he would begin an investigation into the conduct of councillors alleged to have been involved in the incident. He said if councillors were in breach of the code of conduct they will appear before the committee.
