City under pressure

2017-11-09 06:00

I intend not to stir any emotions, hatred or xenophobic tendencies with the following opinion.

South Africa, especially in the Western Cape has enough resources to see to the needs of many.

However, there seems to be a Great Trek towwards the Mother City.

This is placing a huge burden on our beautiful Mother City. It can no longer cope with providing for everyone who lives in it, and is ageing rapidly.

Am I being selfish and ill-considerate for raising this. No, I am not. It is a fact which needs some serious attention.

The influx to the City is not by South African citizens from other areas of the country, but foreign nationals.

Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba is chasing foreign nationals away from that Metro, and they are flocking to the Mother City, thus bleeding resources dry.

We never had water problems, but now are facing drought due to over population.

They are taking over, becoming employers to locals as a result of government tenders.

They own property which they rent out thus to other foreigners. The Government must look into this.
