2017-06-29 06:00

The City of Cape Town on 21 June 2017, received its 13th consecutive unqualified audit opinion and 4th consecutive clean audit opinion from the Auditor-General of South Africa.

Despite the tough economic situation in the country, residents of Cape Town and investors can be encouraged that the City continues to illustrate its commitment to good governance and prudent financial management.

The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Johan van der Merwe said “A well-administered, financially stable city provides the perfect environment for investment, which brings with it business, money and jobs.

It is also needed to maintain social stability and to deliver on the service delivery contract that we have with our residents and ratepayers in general.

The culture of an organisation determines its financial management ethos at all levels of our organisation.
