A free concert to unite Manenberg and Gugulethu residents was held at Khanyisa Church in Tambo Village on Saturday 8 November.

The concert called United We Stand was funded by the Foundation for Human Rights and organised by the Cape Cultural Collective (CCC). It was attended by different organisations from Manenberg, Gugulethu and Tambo Village.

The line up included Likhwezi Arts Group, Women Unite; Rosa Choir; Darion Adams; Steins, Aziza Davids; Junior Rosa coir, Blackie Temoi, Charles Louw; Zami Mdingi; Ithongo Lethu, Bradley Pipus Chanique and Men of Praise.

CCC co-ordinator Mansoor Jaffer called on all community organisations and cultural groups to support the organisation and its initiatives.

CCC is a diverse cultural group that promotes social change through arts and culture.

One of the concert organisers June Knight said their aim is to bring communities together.

This is the second time this year that they are hosting the concert.

“We use arts and culture to bring unity in our communities,” she said.
