Cops warn drivers

Nyanga police are urging motorists to be vigilant when driving in the area.

Police spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi said after numerous highjackings of Uber and Bolt drivers police would like to warn drivers to be vigilant and cautious.

She said incidents of hijackings where Uber and Bolt drivers are victims have been reported at the station and that they occur at night in Crossroads and Browns Farm Philippi.

Sitshitshi said the advice is also for other motorists driving their own personal and delivery vehicles.

She described the following areas as the hotspots:

Govan Mbeki Road in Philippi, Bristol and Sheffield Roads in Browns Farm, Klipfontein Road, Miller and Eiselben Roads in Nyanga and Crossroads. She said some arrests of suspects have been made. Call 021 380 3304/3374 or 082 469 2470 or crime stop at 08600 1011 if you have any information about the suspects.
