From operating a crèche from her RDP house, a Samora Machel resident can now finally render her services in a building with five classes.

The Nakhane Educare Centre was officially opened this past Saturday after the completion of its new building.

Founder Nontsapho Mdimali said she started operating the crèche in 2016 with only one child but the numbers quickly grew .

“By 2015 she had 15 children and was still operating from her house. It became too small to accommodate all the children.

She said because of the demand for her services she decided to build a proper crèche last year to accommodate the growing number of children.

“I was saving up some money to build myself a house in the Eastern Cape and I had to use that money to build this crèche,” said Mdimali.

She said she managed to build five classes, a changing room and two toilets.

However, she said she still does not have everything she needs in order for the crèche to be up to standard.

“I still do not have toys for the children I do not have a proper kitchen to cook for them and also there is no space for the children to play,” she said.

Mdimali said she now looks after 74 children between the ages of one and five. She said the fees differ according to ages.
