Khayelitsha Crusaders Rugby Club lost their second match of the Western Province Southern League against Sir Lowry’s Pass Rugby Club on Saturday.

The Crusaders, as they are affectionately known, lost the game to their opponents by 23-28 at the Khayelitsha Rugby Stadium.

Coach Londi Kamana said they lost the game when two of their key players suffered injuries during the game. “After losing our number 10 and number 12, who are both key players in our team, we lost structure because we had to bring in two new players and that is where we lost the game,” he said.

He said the injuries will affect them because one is long term and both players will miss the team’s Easter tournament at Kei Road, in the Eastern Cape.

Kamana said they are currently in 6th place on the log with two points after two games and that they hope to work their way up the ranks once the league resumes.
