The young jazz pianist Thembelihle Dunjana performs this Sunday 10 December at Kwa Sec, NY138 no. 52 in Gugulethu from 4pm as part of the Jazz in the Native Yards series.
Dunjana who is completing her studies in music will perform popular standards and her own improvisation with her UCT College of Music friends Muneeb Herman on trumpet, drummer Tefo Mahola
Steven de Souza on bass and percussionist Sabu Jiyana.
Tickets are R70 cash at the door/R50 pensioners and students.

Thembelihle Dunjana Biography:
Pianist Thembelihle Dunjana is a dedicated young Artist from Gugulethu.
Prior to high school she had been studying classical piano from grade six up to matric level. She is now in her final year at the UCT College of Music.
In 2016 she was part of the Artscape Jazz festival and has also played at the Cape Town Fringe festival with a group called ‘Addis Ababa’. She also was part of the Louis Moholo legacy project which took place in 2016 in collaboration with other young artists.
She has performed with the likes of Andre Swartz, and Claude Couzens. She is currently part of the UCT Jazz band, which recently performed at the Grahamstown national Arts festival, and was also blessed with the opportunity to perform at the Oslo Jazz festival in Norway, which took place this year in August.
Thembelihle currently teaches the piano at the Rainbow Academy and IMAD and is a freelancing musician in venues around Cape Town.
