One helicopter, 22 parking areas which include the use of 17 schools and more than 2000 volunteers will be utilized in the biggest mass meeting in the history in the Western Cape where an estimated 200 000 people will be gathered.Its’ Time meeting will be hosted at the Swartklip sporting ground in Mitchells Plain next Saturday on 24th March. It’s an interdenominational prayer event. There will be no collections, vendors or any form of commercialism. The evangelist Angus Buchan will be the keynote speaker at the event that is destined to lure 200 000 people. Mitchells Plain is one of South Africa’s largest townships and is situated about 32 km from Cape Town. The mass meeting is expected to be bigger than a U2-concert that had an attendance figure of 76 000 people, according to Adrie Jurgensen, public liaison officer of Radio Tygerberg.“The ground is as big as sixty rugby grounds,” said Deon de Groot, the operational manager of the event. A man from the Free State, De Groot left behind his farm and construction firm two months ago to manage the large operation.The 22 parking areas are located in the area of the Swartklip grounds to accommodate 22 600 vehicles – the parking areas include 17 schools and five sport grounds.There are no parking reserved for cars at the sport ground. Only a limited amount of buses can park at the ground.
