Expect an increase in the liquor licence renewal fee for 2019

2018-10-04 06:02

If you are applying for the renewal of your liquor licence, you can expect an increase in the renewal fee.

According to a statement from the Western Cape Liquor Authority, liquor licence holders must ensure their liquor licences are renewed before Monday 31 December for it to be valid for 2019.

“If an annual renewal notice is not received, the onus is still on the liquor licence holder to pay the prescribed renewal fees annually on or before 31 December,” it reads.

“Failure to renew your licence by 31 December will lead to the lapse of your liquor licence and penalty charges for late payment of your renewal fees, as set out in the Act. All payments should be made into the Western Cape Liquor Authority’s bank account.”

The statement also noted that liquor licence holders can renew their liquor licences biennially.

For any clarity regarding the new fees payable or the annual and biennial renewal process, contact the authority’s offices on 021 204 9805 or 021 204 9700, or send an email to Liquor.Enquiries@wcla.gov.za. If you have already paid the renewal fee, send the proof of payment to finance@wcla.gov.za.
