Three suspects were arrested on Monday in Khayelitsha when they were caught in possession of explosive devices and stolen vehicles.

Police spokesperson Captain Siyabulela Vukubi said on Monday police from the Western Cape Flying Squad received information about suspicious criminal activities in Mew Way road. “At around 6pm they saw four suspects stripping a vehicle. The suspects fled the scene but three were arrested later,” he said. Further investigation was conducted and it was discovered that two vehicles an Opel Corsa and a Honda Brio were hijacked in Nyanga and Bellville South respectively. He said they found explosive devices, a TV and a cellphone on the premises where they were caught. They are between the ages of 23 and 31 will appear in Khayelitsha Margistrates’ Court.
