The Njomba Fitness Academy (NFA) held its quarterly fitness explosion in Khayelitsha on Saturday.

Monwabisi Njomba of NFA said they started the explosions in 2016 to help people stay fit.

He said they do different exercises during the explosion which are different from normal exercises.

“We use chairs to do our exercises which is something different from other exercises,” he said.

Njomba said they do get a lot of support from people because they always have big crowds attending.

He said they also try and train the mind so that it can prepare them to do the exercises.

He said staying fit does not only boost confidence but it also eliminates the diseases one gets when unfit.

He said they also have mini-explosions which are not as intense as the fitness explosion they have quarterly.

“The mini-explosions also include ligther exercise for the elderly,” he said.

Njomba said they will have their next fitness explosion in June.
