Former Radio Zibonele presenters and couple Vuyo and Seithati Magqibelo have ventured into their second business.

The couple, who also run a successful stationary company, are now specialising in the nuts industry,

“We are selling pecan nuts and are the first black owned company to exist,” Vuyo said.

“It’s still a small company but we are hoping to become a major role player in this industry,” said Seithati,

The couple stated that their offering is “something new to kasi residents.”

“Most people are used to other forms of nuts and having done our research, we are teaching communities about the health benefits of this product,” she said.

Vuyo added they will be targeting schools and other community based organisations to teach them about “pecan nuts”.

He said one of the most significant facts of pecan nutrition is that they are the best antioxidants.

“ If you add a handful of pecan nuts to your daily diet, it will help to subdue the blood lipids to get oxidized unnecessarily. This helps in preventing coronary heart diseases,” he said.

The couple said they were thrilled because most businesses like petrol stations, township restuarants have welcomed them with open hands and they will be forming mutually beneficial partnerships.
