Give others hope re: Sunflower Day

2017-08-24 06:01

Sunflower Day is on 15 September and more than 200 000 people are expected to wear their Topes (Tubes of Hope) to show support for people who are in need of bone marrow transplants to survive. Topes cost R25 each and are sold at all Pick n Pay stores and online. The money from each Tope sold will go towards the Sunflower Fund.

CEO of the fund, Alana James, says that the excitement and support from schools, social media, patients and communities is truly inspiring. “To see our Topes being worn with pride is not just an honour for us, but a salute to our survivors, our fighters, and our memories of loved ones. It’s a show of support and a symbol of hope,” she says.
