The scorching heat last weekend did not do the Kamva Ladies Soccer team from Nyanga any good when they lost to Heideveld Ladies.

The Kamva ladies lost 3-1 in a Sasol Women’s League game which took place in Nyanga soccer stadium on Saturday 7 September.

The league is made up of 16 teams and Kamva Ladies are lying 10th on the log.

Kamva player Siviwe Tyaliti said the heat was just too much for the team which saw them lose the game.

“We have a lot of junior players in our team and they are not used to playing in such hot conditions,” she said.

Tyaliti said the players could not handle the heat and now that summer is coming they are planning on practising in such conditions so they can get used to it.

She said their next game is going to be a night game and that too is going to be another challenge for them because they are not used to playing at night. “We are going to have to adjust our practising times as well so we can practise under lights,” she said.

Kamva will be playing UCT on Friday evening.
