Let me take this opportunity to welcome myself back into your lives again this year.

I hope 2018 will treat keep us in good faith. I also want to wish each and everyone of you a happy and prosperous new year filled with goodwill.

If 2017 was bad for you, let it pass and please concentrate on what lies ahead.

I know many of you have set goals and have wise resolutions for intended achievements this year.

The only advice I can give to you is just follow your dreams and work hard towards reaching anything you want to achieve. If you don’t start now, then you might as well forget about achieving those goals. Enough about goals. Let me turn back to the speed at which this year has taken off. By speed, I mean there has been so many developments shaping our country and the international world at large.

Internationally. US President Donald Trump has had a thing or two up his sleeves, showing his true colours, which leaves one to wonder as to how in the world did he get to this position. Mzantsi also has had its full pot of mixed fortunes. The January 8 statement was delivered amidst hopes that new changes are lurking somewhere for the betterment of our people. No fees at tertiary institutions promises to deliver free education. Even there has been no clarity on the modalities of this, we wait with bated breath. The much awaited state of capture commission has been finally set into motion. This should make or break the country. With impeachment talks resonating everywhere, do you think we might see the end of our beloved JZ? Then there is H&M debacle, although they might not be the only racists in the closet.

Sigh! There is a lot to talk about but so little space. The year is still young, holdn tight and we’ll journey together.
