The young man from Lwandle who unveiled his clothing brand was very impressed with the turnout and support he received on the day.

Yandisa Magagana, on Thursday 23 August, officially unveiled his Look At God (LAG) clothing line at a packed Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum.

He also had young people modelling items from the line.

The clothing ranges from beanies, caps, T-shirts to tracksuits.

The 24-year-old told City Vision the support he received was “amazing”.

He related it meant so much to him even if others he had invited couldn’t make it.

Magagana said he even sold items on the day and received quite a number of orders.

“The event was a success. I was so overwhelmed to see that it had become a reality. People came with this great expectation as many of them believed in me.”

Magagana said people were so excited about the clothing, and even advised him on what they would like to see going forward.

Yolisa Ntshayi, one of the models, said she found the event “very interesting”.

“To find young people standing up for themselves in this community, like Yandisa, is impressive,” she said. “The clothes were also of good quality, nice and affordable, too.”

Masa Soko, manager of the museum, said the launch was very inspirational, and also hoped his peers learnt a thing or two from this young entrepreneur.

“The event showed that young people can do things on their own as well,” she said.

“This will help stop the stereotype that young people are lazy, and don’t want to do anything.”

Soko believes he has proven his worth, and that he was well supported by his community.

The items’ prices range from R100 to R300.
