Khayelitsha cleric and gospel artist Pastor Mfundo Tywaku has released his fourth studio album with the hope of motivating the young an old.

The album, released last week is aptly titled Isigqibo and according to Tywaku it is aimed at the individual to take charge of their life.

“Before I record an album I take a look at society to see the good and the bad things that are happening.

I noticed that many young people in our areas are involved in negative activities without having taken a decision to do so.

They are just going with the flow and as a result they find themselves in a lot of trouble. This album is a clarion call to the young and old to make a decision about their lives,” he said.

Durban based gospel superstar and music maker Dumi Mkokstad produced the 10 track album, including the lead hit single.

Tywaku said that the message doesn’t stop at the title track but continues to other songs as well.

“One of the songs that I have dedicated to young people is called Bayeke Bahleke which seeks to motivate those that are being ridiculed for doing the right thing.

They can laugh at you as long as they one but you must take a decision that you are going to do the right thing no matter what,”said Tywaku.

He said that his fourth album is much more matured despite him working with young and unknown musicians such as his younger brother Aylo and Siyabonga Doyle.

Isigqibo was released through Tywaku’s Induduma Entertainment and he is hoping to make a big impact in the gospel industry which is why he travelled to the Indian Ocean to produce it.

“I am hoping for a positive impact on the people that will receive the album.

I am also quite confident that it will represent me well in the awards but that is not the main focus as this is the album for the people,” he said.

He said that the album consists of his own composition as well as traditional gospel songs that are much loved.

The album is available at Bellstar music store in Bellville and will soon be available at music shops nationally and iTunes.
