Iltiha Labantu in collaboration with the Khayelitsha Site C Police Station and various civil society organizations under the theme: #OneTooManySA campaign invites the community to join them today (Thursday the 13th of October 2017) at the Site C Plaza from 10am to 3pm.
The #OneTooManySA motorcade raises awareness about the scourge of violence perpetrated on women and children the communities and is a call to action for people to speak out against the abuse of women and children.
The #OneTooManySA pledge campaign was established in May 2017 as a response to the spike in incidences of violence perpetrated on women and girls.
Since its inception the campaign has been actively engaging communities throughout the greater Cape Flats region in areas like Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Nyanga, Langa, Mitchells Plein, Samora Michel, Philippi, Elsies River and Kraaifortein to get ordinary citizens to collectively address the scourge.
On the 14 June, the campaign brought together nearly 600 activists and survivors of abuse held a peaceful march to the Western Cape Legislature and Parliament to demand justice for the victims of crimes against women and children.
