Khaya Rose Rugby team trashed Tyhume Stars 24-0 in a league game played at the Khayelitsha Rugby Stadium last week Sunday 9 June. Rose finished the first half leading by 17- 0 and continued to bulldoze their opponents in the second half.

Rose’s coach Xolisa Makeleni said his boys were prepared to die on the pitch in order to win the game. “My boys showed character today. They rectified all the mistakes that they made in the previous game,” said Makeleni adding that they were playing with passion.

He said his team stuck to the game plan throughout the match.

“We ensured that we don’t do silly mistakes this time around.

“We lost our opening match a fortnight ago because of silly mistakes. And now we want to ensure that we win each and every game that we play. But we want to take one game at a time,” he said adding that their aim is to win the league. Rose scored four tries and two conversions.
