Khayelitsha cops nab 303 offenders

Police arrested 303 suspects during operations conducted in the Khayelitsha clusterover the weekend.

The aim of these operations was to curb crime and to maintain visibility in the area of Khayelitsha Cluster policing precinct.

Stop and searches of people and motor vehicle were executed during these operations. Lockdown,high density and Fiela operations were also executed.

A total of 132 suspects were arrested on separate incidents for possession of various drugs.

Police confiscated 454 grams of dagga, 26.75g Tik, 81grams of mandrax, on separate incidents. 32 houses were searched for drugs and drugs were consficated.

Thirty seven shebeen operations were conducted and 26 suspects were arrested for selling liqour without licence at their premises.

Police also recovered three stolen motor vehicle,three suspects arrested for possession of illegal firearms and three firearms were recovered.

Two suspects arrested for rape,two suspects arrested for housebreaking and theft.

One suspect arrested for business robbery, five suspects arrested for murder and one suspect was arrested for attempted murder Police management applauded the members who work tirelessly to prevent crime.
