“The competition is going to be very tough and unpredictable. I am competing against the best. I am ready for the competition,” she said.

Sithole said 40 percent of the judging will be based on activities relating to community upliftment programmes.

Sithole regularly visits schools as part of her project , motivating boys and girls in township schools, which she started last year.

Sithole also going to donate school uniform and stationery to five learners from five local schools, one of which she has already identified is Chumani Primary School in Khayelitsha.

The learner who will benefit from the donation will be identified based on his or her academic performance.

The donations, which are sponsored by her family members, will be handed over before the end of the year.

Sithole will host her competition, Miss United Township SA, in a place which is yet to be confirmed, in October.
