Langa Hockey Club’s u.19 side came out victorious in a league game against Brackenfell High School on Saturday at Langa Sports Field.

Langa won the game by 2 goals to Brackenfell’s 1 in the Western Province u.19 B League fixture.

The team from Langa is made up of boys from the township and with some players coming from Khayelitsha.

Langa’s spokesperson Phumzile Malotana said they had a very good game even though their boys started slowly and missed a lot of scoring opportunities.

He said after the slow start they eventually took control of the game which saw them winning and leaving them in the first position on the log.

“Our aim this year is to win the league and get promoted to the A league,” said Malotana.
