Faced with the possibility of drought and the dreaded Day Zero, a local dry clean owner has decided to play it safe.

Owner of Inkomishi Dry Cleaning services Mzi Kutta last week installed a 5000 litre Jojo Tank at his business site in Khayelitsha.

“The City of Cape Town is facing water challenges and as business people we must play our role in saving water,” Kutta said. Kutta has a bore-hole on his business premises, which then fill the tank with the water.

This considerably cuts down his water consumption bill.

“The business of providing clean laundry must not be dampened by the drought. I hope all businesses that rely heavily on water for survival to start thinking of ways to alleviate the problem,” said Kutta.

He said his business has seen an increase in volumes as people were “wary of using water at home” due to the restrictions.
