A discovery by Law Enforcement officers has prompted an investigation by the City of Cape Town into the illegal dumping of rotten meat in Philippi.

Law Enforcement spokesperson, Wayne Dyason, says over the past week they continued to clamp down on illegal dumpers and impounded four vehicles over the past week.

One of the impounded vehicles, he explains, was caught dumping decaying meat in close proximity to an informal settlement in the Philippi area.

“The meat is connected to a well-known butchery and the matter is being further investigated from a health perspective.”
