Thousands of local learners visited Spine Road High School on Friday and Saturday last week for the City of Cape Town’s career expo.

Officers of the Mitchell’s Plain district in the City’s social development department hosted the expo for Grade 12 learners from schools in Mitchell’s Plain and Philippi, in partnership with the provincial education department and the Cape Careers Exhibitors Association.

The career expo aimed to involve both learners and parents, as parents were able to attend information sessions to enable them to help their children make career decisions, help them with their studies, and give general life guidance.

The expo featured 30 exhibitors, including prospective TVET colleges, universities, City departments and private colleges.

The expo gave learners the opportunity to talk to different exhibitors and explore career prospects suited to their qualifications, skills, and interests.

Samantha Lee attended the event and took these pictures.
