Khayelitsha rapper Lue Sodisa is hoping to touch lives with his oncoming hip hop release.

Born Lulamile Sodisa, he is working on a new project where he hopes to showcase his vocal prowess and grow his brand name.

The Site B rapper describes himself as a commercial rapper, poet and songwriter, but says social commentary is also top of his mind.

He said that he may have started his journey as fresh faced high school pupil, but he has a lot to say in his music.

“I want my music to touch the hearts of music lovers. I want to inspire others. When they listen to the music, they must be motivated,” he said.

Sodisa shot to popularity in the local underground scene in 2014, with a single called “Ndiyathand’ubhala

“It was my matric year, but I have been doing this way before as a young kid at school. I used to be part of a group called G-Love while staying in Nyanga.

The group later split and I continued attending cyphers and pushing the music, but it was hard,” he said.

In 2015 he dropped his debut mixed tape tilted ‘The MIC has dropped’ which was followed by another in 2017 called Stay.

Sodisa touts MaB from Driemanskaap as his one of the first rappers that inspired him.

“I used to watch him in cyphers and I was amazed, so I tried to copy him. Until I realised that I cannot be him, so I decided to focus on sounding like myself.

He said the highlight of his career so far is producing a documentary on his life, which he hopes to share with other people.“In the documentary I speak about the struggles of being an independent artist and I will continue to show out my life through my music,” he said.

He said that his fans need to keep an eye on his social media pages to catch his new releases which will be dropped later in the year.

His Facebook page name is Lue Sodisa.
