A fender bender took a turn for the worst in Gugulethu when a 55-year-old man was car-jacked.

According to a report from the Nyanga cluster police, the man was driving his Uno along NY56 when he hit another vehicle on Monday 15 May at about 07:30.

Police spokesperson, Captain Daphne O’Reilly, says the driver of the other vehicle got out of his car and slapped the 55-year-old man in the face.

She says a second man then approached the 55-year-old man and hit him with a firearm.

“The suspect then jumped into the Uno of the complainant and sped off the scene.

No shots were fired in this insident.”
