Africans were a refernce for moral values in the past.

They respected their culture and beliefs, and marriage was part of these values.

Marriage for Africans was linked to the Creator or ancestors, depending on their respective belief systems.

This is why on the matters of marriage, only men of integrity were involved. Marriage is a sacrosanct.

The confusion now is that this sacred communion has earthly attachments.

Weddings have now become manifestations of anti-social behaviour.

It has become a norm for people to hang outside their cars, hooters blaring loudly and with insipid behaviour.

How come churches, especially the pentecostal ones, allow such ungodly actions.

In the midst of all of this madness there is always a man of the cloth, tasked with blessing the proceedings.

Growing up we knew what to say in front of the elders.

Such behavious is shocking in front of elders and the adolescents.

Wedding ceremonies are supposed to be decent. Motor-bikes spoil the sacred ceremony, as they divert the attention away from the ceremony.

Weddings seem to be a show-off these days.

Even if the couple are already cohabiting before their actual marriage, the bottom line is that the extravaganza is unnecessary and uncalled for. Uncalled for behavior especially of a family member and leaders of the relevant congregation should be condemned in the strongest possible terms. Life is that existence that is given to man to live for a purpose, to live to his own satisfaction and pleasure, provided he forgets not…God who created him and who expects a spiritual obedience and observation to the moral laws that has inspired.
