Hundreds of Methodists Church of Southern Africa members gathered at the huge OR Tambo Sports Complex in Khayelitsha sharing spiritual wisdom.

This year saw the congregation sharing this period with the Grahamstown District’s Bishop Andile Mbethe.

The weekend kicked off with Maundy Thursday(Maundy Thursday is the name given to the day on which Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples, known as the Last Supper) sermon by Superintendent Reverend Maseti, from the book of Psalms 55:12 – 14.

Good Friday was explained through a spirit-filled service.

The ministers and local preachers reminded the crowd of the Passion of the Christ who went through a difficult journey in order to save humanity from sin.

The ministers and local preachers again reminded congregants that even in the midst of our challenges, God is right at the centre of those challenges.

The Easter programme also included activities by the Children’s Ministry as well as a music festival coordinated by the False Bay Circuit’s Music Association.

Bishop Mbethe closed off the weekend with his sermon on Sunday focused on the “Power of Resurrection” encouraging congregants to focus on God.
