Mfuleni Careers expo successful

2017-08-31 06:00

The St Matthews Anglican Church held a highly successful careers day exhibition in Mfuleni recently.

“You need to be thirsty for knowledge,” said Reverend Gugulethu Ningi to the many learners who attended the event.

The careers day was aimed at presenting options to Grade 12 leaners.

Institutions ranging from the police, insurance companies and the Department of Water and Sanitation and the Department of Environmental Affairs showed the many careers available in their respective fields.

According to Reverend Ningi “for many leaners the career day was an eye opener”.

“They heard from the horses mouth on how to enter certain professions,” he said.

He said: “Given the social challenges faced by young people, religious institutions have a moral responsibility to transform lives in society,”.

Matric student Azola Galeni said he was happy and felt that the day was well spent, having been taught various prospects regarding a career in future.

“It has left me open minded and I will sit down and plot my future with perfect information I received today,” he said.

The career day was concluded by a fun-filled career expo.
