Buyelwa Bomela, a Mfuleni business woman has done her bit in easing the plight of unshod learners at a school in the area.

She has delivered 350 pairs of shoes and socks to pupils at Fairydale Primary and its high school learners who were the beneficiaries of her benevolence on Thursday, in the company of Kasi Angels founder Gerald Nomlala.

Bomela, aka Mhonko Godze, said it pained her to hear that there were children who went to school without shoes, a week after reopening. “I was hurt to learn that children attended a school that had no proper building, and when I paid them a visited, I could see learners walking bare feet. Some needed help because they came from poor families.”

“Not having a school being separated is painful on its own it was even worse when I saw that some learners did not even have school shoes,” she said. Bomela said she decided she needed to put a smile on their faces so they can at least forget about their problems, even if it was for a short time.

She said she decided to donate school shoes, socks and groceries to the most needy learners from the school.

“Ï do my best to help.”
