Guava is back! This after the young musician seemed to have done the disappearing act, leaving his fans wondering why.

On Sunday, he sprang up at Site C Taxi Rank, doing what he was best known for; singing and dancing.

He said he had taken a break from singing and chose to work, because, to him, singing is just a hobby

Guava, real name Asavela Gxako, has a shrill voice-which came to life on Sunday, and meticulous dance moves that had fans eating out of his nimble feet.

He last released an album in 2013.

“I had four albums under my belt and my last album was released five years ago, but because people enjoy my music, they asked me to came here (and perform),” said Guava.

He said everywhere he goes, fans always want to know what he is up to.

“I’m busy with my fifth album, which will be released soon and is called ‘Ndiphilangodanki’. It’s about all the experiences I went through in the music industry,” he said.

The albu, will be released under RC Music Record banner, based in Mfuleni.

“In 2008, my first album was Selina, followed by Madlakadlaka, in 2010 I released Inkululeko, followed by Inkedama in 2013.”

Guava said he promotes his music by performing at taxi ranks, train stations or at events like birthday parties.

“My last major event was a Radio Zibonele FM Road Show, which was held at this taxi rank in 2013,” he said.

Guava said he charges R50 for a CD. For bookings or sales, he can be contacted on 084 839 7342
