When people think of hosting special events, they always seek the magic hands of Ntsiki Ndzishe for decorations.

Malibongwe Decoration Company is the most wanted in Khayelitsha and around Cape Town.

“It’s sad that sometimes we have to turn away clients because we are fully booked,” said Ntsiki.

“But it was not easy at first. At some point we would get only two clients a week because people did not know us.”

The business has grown so much that they are booked almost every day of the month.

Ntsiki’s daughter, Noluthando,29, said she was in primary school when her mum started the business in 1998.

“I used to help when I was not at school.

“I would get some money to buy things I wanted.

“I developed a love for the art of designing and it became my passion. I enrolled for electrical engineering but I had to let it go because I felt my heart was in deco,” she said.

Ntsiki,55, who also owns Malibongwe Restaurant at Look Out Hill in Khayelitsha, saidthat working with a dedicated team is key to a successful business.

“We had finance challenges to establish the business.

“However, getting the right people to work with is very important. Now I have a good team of five people,” she said.

She said to be successful in the business you must have lots of material for people to choose from.

“They should be able to make their own choices and not be limited by what you have,” said Tsiki.

Malibongwe offers deco services for events like weddings and dinner conferences.

They also provide catering venue hire services.
