To celebrate the life of late former president Neslon Mandela,Nyanga SAPS conducted no less than three activities, giving back to the community.

On Tuesday, the station invited about 40 children of an orphanage which was adopted two years ago.

“The members prepared lunch and party packs for the children and donated some groceries.”

The children were treated to a movie and a jumping castle.

“Children were engaged and entertained, watching a movie and enjoying themselves on a jumping castle,” said spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi.

“The station has also engaged children on child abuse, rape, human trafficking, missing children and provided them with safety hints and pamphlets during an event organised by the Catholic Welfare Development in Lillian Ngoyi in Samora Machel,” she said.

Sitshitshi also added that their day culminated with a donation of a wheelchair to a physically challenged father in Nyanga.
