Open day for jobless youth of Strand

2018-11-22 06:02

Unemployed youth in Strand, Lwandle and surrounding areas are invited to an open day hosted by YoungPeople@Work (YP@W) and their job placement partners.

The gathering will be held at Suiderstrand Library on Tuesday 27 November from 09:00 to 14:00.

Unemployed youths from the Helderberg area will meet the YP@W team and learn more about professional job seeking skills, CV writing, interview skills and what companies are looking for. They will also be helped to design and update their CVs at no cost. Furthermore, participants can also sign up for the organisation’s free courses and add their names to the job database for future opportunities.

The open day will be facilitated by Frank Julie, founder and director of YP@W who holds a masters degree in Adult Education from UCT.

The job placement and referral partners invited for the day are Dreamworker, Harambee, Lulaway, RLabs, I-College, Reach Make It and Ashley Kriel Skills Development Centre.

All participants will be issued with certificates of participation. To book your place, send a WhatsApp message to 063 178 4523.
