Philippi rap duo, Rhumshi & Ezzo, are hoping that their new mixtape will help push their message across other youth.

Khumbulani “Rhumshi” Kuwane and Enoch Vakala have released their new LP called TMP-NRD (Too Many Projects - No Release Dates) which is a 10 track compilation of their latest tests.

The two, 25 and 26 respectivelly, have known each other and worked together from 2010 since they moved in to 19 Section in Philippi but this is their first joint release.

According Rhumshi the two are sticking to the basic hiphop elements and not joining the trap movement taking over the game at the moment.

As much as we dabble with other sounds we remain grounded to our hip-hop. The key thing for us is to spread our message which is about responsibility,” he said.

The leading track from the record is “Aint Trana Bake” with its key message being making money not babies.

Ezzo said that they hope to inspire other youths to focus on building their careers and making ends meet than getting distracted and having babies.

“There is a real problem of teenage pregnancies and I am also a father so we just want to make sure others don’t make the mistake of having babies while they still on the grind,” said Vakala.

The project was produced by talent producer Sabelo September and is available on YouTube, AudioMack, Zimtaiment & iTunes.

The video for Aint Trana Bake was shot by Zimbabwean film makers Step Up Grafixx and will be released.

Despite their pseudo trap beats the rappers say they are not mumble rappers. “Even if we get a trap beat we will still give solid flows. The style is not as important as the message that were are trying to send with our music.

The duo can be found individually on social media.
