Zibonele FM presenter Siyakudumisa “Publiq” Mbathiwa says he wants to see every young girl in Cape Town receiving education.

Recently, he took the first steps in ensuring this noble dream realised by launching a scholarship and leanership program in Khayelitsha, which he says will benefit young girls from Cape Town’s underprivileged communities.

“This program is aimed at bringing business and government departments to offer leanerships and scholarships to young girls who don’t have means to pay for tertiary fees.” says Mbathiwe.

The young dj says he wants women to know that their backgrounds shouldn’t stop them from reaching their potential and education is the best tool they can use to empower themselves.

Community Safety MEC Dan Plato was the guest speaker at the launch of the program says”

“It feels so good to listen to young people saying they want to do something about their lives as we live in a world ruled by drugs and crime.

We want to struggle with youth that works towards succeeding in their positive goals.”

Plato also promised to talk to his colleagues in the provincial legislature in assisting Mbathiwe.

The Iyaq Leanership and Scholarship program is set to begin towards the end of this year and the first recipients will be announced next year.
