Police investigate culpable homicide after girl dies

A 12-year-old girl died after being knocked over, allegedly by a Law Enforcement vehicle, in Phillipi on Tuesday 15 May.

Police spokesperson Captain Lance Goliath says officers were called to the scene at about 15:00 and found paramedics busy treating the patient.

“She was declared dead on the scene,” Goliath says.

He says a case of culpable homicide is being investigated.

Goliath urges anyone with who might have witnessed the accident to contact Detective Constable Ricardo Coetzee on 021 690 1515.
