Greetings to you all, I find great enjoyment in engaging with readers.
This is an important time of the year for business people. I hope that you have not exhausted your business funds over the holidays; if you had been on a break.
This is a new year, and each of you has 12 chances to work on your business again and make it a success.
This week, I would like us to look at customer service, good and bad habits.
Customers are the cornerstone of your business, always remember that.
If you don’t know how to treat your customers well, then maybe you are not ready to run and grow a business and it might be useful to take a short course in customer service.
It is disappointing to experience bad customer service in our townships, especially with taxi drivers.
’These gentlemen need customer service training. How do you use rude language to a customer who is paying for your services, who in turn help pay off your monthly instalments.
As a small business owner, please don’t copy that type of customer service, as observed in the taxi industry, and its not good for the business.
The other group of people who display bad customer service are street vendors.
They tend to forget that competition is only a few metres down the street. When I experience bad service from vendors, I make it a point to address such, to make them aware that this is not how they should treat their customers. But if I notice that they want to argue with me, I simply walk away. Good customer service is greeting a customer, asking how you can help them.
Offer customers exactly what they need and exceed their expectations. Be a problem solver, don’t send an unhappy customer away. Find ways of solving their problem.
Thank the customer for buying from your business, encourage them to come buy again, and ask them to refer other people to your business. Always keep serving with a smile.
